Though I taught precalculus once in the 2016-17 school year, I undertook it anew at Magnet in the 2021-22 school year. Over the course of the year, I wrote lessons and homework questions in a form that would be easily adaptable into a textbook. That led to Magnet Precalculus, which I used for the 2022-23 school year. Magnet Precalculus is available for $21.99 on Lulu (click on image).
Given that the change in 2023-24 from the Georgia Standards of Excellence to the Georgia K-12 Math Standards is drastic in the case of Precalculus, I had to rewrite portions of the book, which led to the 2nd edition of Magnet Precalculus. This included removing matrices and the complex exponential functions and replacing it with rational functions and limits/continuity. Additionally, a first chapter was added with a substantial amount of review of geometry and Algebra II, which was a pressing need given the learning loss from the pandemic. The second edition is also hardcover, comes with 5 activities to introduce some challenging topics, and introduces trigonometry through a geometric and historical lens. Magnet Precalculus, 2nd Edition is available for $35.42 on Lulu (click on image).
